I always start to feel a wee bit stressed as it starts to come around to the holiday season. Now don’t get me wrong, I love the holidays with all of their fun and festivities. What gets me stressed is the never ending need to “convince” people that NOW is the time to place their orders for holiday cards, thank you and appreciation gifts and anything else that they want to send out in time for the holiday season.

Yes I know that it is ONLY October but the days and weeks seem to fly by and before you know it we are looking Thanksgiving right in the face. Like in most things the best time to really think about what you want to purchase and for whom is well before the inevitable deadline.

My suggestions are simple:

  • Start to compile a list of whom you’d like to recognize. Make it a very broad list because you can always cut back. It’s better to include everyone at first than to inadvertently neglect someone. If appropriate make two lists including a top tier grouping for those folks that you want and need to treat in a very special manner.
  • Think about your budget. It makes no sense to look at items that are totally out of your price range because we can help you to come up with some wonderful ideas at your price point.
  • Once you have your list of recipients and know how much you wish to spend, it is time to think about the item/s that you want to purchase. Of course there are thousands of choices but you probably have a good idea as to what would be appropriate for your clients. If you don’t have a clue, we are able to help you make the best decision and identify creative options that you might not have even considered. We work with these items every day and have the expertise to work with you regardless of your type of business.
  • Place your order in enough time so that the item can be imprinted and shipped without having to incur rush charges. It’s unfortunate that some people wait so long to place their order that they incur additional fees solely because of their delay. You can eliminate that additional expense by acting soon.

So relax and help me to relax as well! Let’s get our holiday shopping done early and then we can both sit back and enjoy the season!
